In the gospels you will find the parable of the lost sheep. Jesus told this parable to the Pharisees after they criticized him for befriending sinners.
Jesus spoke of one sheep that went astray from the herd. This sheep was alone, defenseless, and in danger. The Good Shepherd left his 99 sheep to find the lost one. When he found the lost sheep, he joyfully carried him over his shoulders into safety.
Your God is your Good Shepard. You may have strayed in your life and feel lost and alone in a dangerous world. You are not alone. The Good Shepard is looking for you and will rejoice over you with singing. You are found and His unconditional love and mercy will carry you.
